Which gas do laboratory gas taps carry?: That depends on the installation rather than on the tap. The same tap body is supplied for different services, and the handle colour is the marking that tells people at the bench which gas an outlet carries. For that reason we do not state a gas on the product pages. Tell us the gas and the pressure at the outlet and we will confirm which version to order.
What do the handle colours on laboratory gas taps mean?: Handle colour is a gas type marking, coded to DIN EN 13792. On this range a yellow handle marks a burning gas outlet and a blue handle marks a technical gas outlet. It is a marking convention for the people using the bench, not a rating, so always confirm the gas on an existing installation from its own records rather than from the handle alone.
Can the pressure be set at the bench instead of at the cylinder?: Yes, and it is the usual arrangement where several benches share one supply. A point of use regulator sits at the outlet and sets the working pressure there, so each position can run at its own pressure from the same reduced line. The laboratory regulators in this range cover that, including versions for very low outlet settings where an instrument needs one.
