Southern CGS is an authorised UK distributor and stockist for Rotarex, the Luxembourg manufacturer of specialty gas control equipment. Rotarex has made cylinder valves, pressure regulators and gas systems since 1922 and its ultra high purity range is assembled, tested and packaged for the semiconductor, analytical and pharmaceutical gas systems that cannot tolerate contamination from the equipment itself.

Common questions
- What is the difference between the RX series and the S series?
- They sit at opposite ends of the range. The RX regulators are the ultra high purity units, built and packaged so that the regulator adds nothing to the gas it controls, for semiconductor, analytical and pharmaceutical work. The S series are in line and point of use regulators for laboratory and process supply at working pressures. The purity grade of your gas decides between them, not the pressure.
- How can I tell that a Rotarex part is genuine?
- Buy through an authorised distributor, and read the markings on the part itself. Rotarex cylinder valves carry the valve number and the date of manufacture alongside the transportable pressure equipment symbol, so a valve can be identified from the valve rather than from its box. If you have a part you are unsure about, send us a photograph of the markings and we will tell you what it is.
- Can a Rotarex product be supplied to a special specification?
- Often, yes. Several ranges are built to order by outlet standard, seat material, body material and actuation, and the cylinder connectors in particular are made to the standard and the gas you name. Describe the application rather than quoting a part number, and we will find out what is available, including versions that are not shown on this site.
