Gas Manifolds and Changeover Systems

Manifolds for supplying gas from more than one cylinder, from simple manual manifolds to automatic changeover systems that switch to the reserve bank without interrupting supply. The Rotarex range includes the CM series manual manifolds, the MOD high flow manual manifold for higher demand systems, and the CEN and TD series autochange manifolds, all built for specialty and high purity gases.

Manual manifolds suit sites where someone is present to change over. Automatic changeover suits continuous processes, laboratories running overnight and anywhere an interrupted supply costs more than the manifold.

Series CEN Autochange Manifold - Gas Manifolds by Southern CGS

Gas Manifolds

Series CEN Autochange Manifold

Auto-change manifold offering high flow supply of non-corrosive industrial gases. Balanced valve technology removes the requirement for secondary regulation downstream.

CMI Manual Manifold - Gas Manifolds by Southern CGS

Gas Manifolds

Series CMI Manifold

Supply board with duo bloc single stage diaphragm technology. Regulator technology designed for corrosive gases.

Common questions

How does an automatic changeover manifold work?
The manifold draws from a duty bank of cylinders while a reserve bank stands by. When the duty bank falls below a set pressure, the supply switches to the reserve without interrupting the flow downstream. On the automatic boards in this range the reset back to the refilled bank is manual, which is deliberate: it means somebody has to notice that a bank now needs changing.
How many cylinders can one manifold take?
It depends on the board. Across this range a manifold takes two cylinders plus a purge line, or three if the purge line is not used, and the larger boards take four plus purge. The duobloc versions take up to six. The exact capacity, and whether the purge line is included in it, is on each product page.
Can a manifold be used with oxygen?
Only where the documentation says so, and two boards in this range state plainly that they are not suitable for oxygen service. Where oxygen use is stated it is often conditional, on the body material or on an inlet pressure limit. We have put the stated condition on the product page rather than a bare tag, because with oxygen the condition is the part that matters.
