Brass Gas Filters

Brass in-line filters for standard industrial gas lines at medium and high inlet pressures. Threaded connections, maximum inlet pressure on each product page.

All four are rated to 60 bar inlet, so the choice is line size and filtration degree. The 10 series takes 3/4 and 1 inch connections, the 12 series 1/4 and 1/2 inch. The PHF BS2 F10 and PHF BS2 F12 carry 5 and 50 micron elements and are the coarse options; the PHF BS2 CF10 and PHF BS2 CF12 filter to 0.01 micron.

Common questions

When is brass the right choice for a gas filter?
Brass suits standard industrial gases in ordinary environments and costs less than stainless steel. It is not the choice where the gas attacks copper alloys, or where a high purity line must not pick anything up from the filter body. If you are not certain how your gas behaves with brass, ask us before ordering rather than work from an assumption.
Does a finer filter restrict the flow more?
Yes. Every filter adds some restriction and a finer element adds more of it at the same body size. That is why line size and filtration degree are chosen together rather than one after the other, and why a coarse option exists at all. The connection size on each product page is the practical guide to the flow the unit is built around.
What is a sintered filter element?
A sintered element is made by fusing metal powder into a rigid porous block, rather than by pleating a fabric or paper medium. The pore size is controlled during manufacture, which is how a fine and repeatable filtration rating is achieved, and the element stands up to pressure and temperature far better than a soft medium. It is a common construction for in line gas filters.
