Calibration Gas Regulators

Regulators and fittings for calibration and span gas cylinders, used for gas detector bump testing and calibration. The range covers fixed flow regulators at preset flow rates, dial-a-flow units where the rate is selectable, push button and push type regulators for controlled manual release, piston type constant flow units and two-stage pressure reducing regulators, plus adaptors for the common calibration cylinder threads.

The right unit depends on the flow rate the detector maker specifies and whether you need one fixed rate or several. Product pages give the flow rates each unit supports.

Common questions

What is span gas?
Span gas is a calibration gas of known concentration, used to set what a gas detector reads at a point across its range. A bump test only checks that a detector responds at all. A span calibration sets how accurately it reads. Both depend on the gas arriving at a steady, known rate, which is the job of the regulators on this page.
What is a fixed flow regulator?
A fixed flow regulator delivers one preset flow rate from a calibration cylinder, with nothing to adjust. That makes it the simplest and most repeatable option where every test uses the same rate. Where several detectors need different rates, a selectable or dial type unit saves carrying more than one regulator to the same job.
Which flow rate do I need?
The detector manufacturer sets it, and it is normally printed in the instrument's own calibration procedure rather than chosen by the user. Match the regulator to that figure. Tell us the detector and the thread on your calibration cylinder and we will confirm which unit fits both.
