Regulators
Gas Pressure Regulators
Our range of gas pressure regulators is designed to provide safe, accurate and reliable pressure control across industrial, laboratory, specialty gas and ultra high purity applications. As an authorised UK Rotarex distributor, we supply Rotarex specialty gas, high purity and UHP regulators alongside ranges of calibration gas regulators, back pressure regulators, gas manifolds, automatic changeover systems, and cutting and welding equipment. The range includes single and dual stage cylinder regulators, in-line regulators and point-of-use regulators for applications ranging from general industrial gas supply through to semiconductor-grade gas systems.
Choosing the right regulator depends on the gas, the required inlet and outlet pressures, the purity grade of the application, and whether the regulator is installed on the cylinder or in the gas line. The categories below group regulators by their intended application, making it easier to identify the most suitable solution. Each product page includes detailed specifications, features and configuration options to help you select the correct regulator for your gas system.
Regulators by Type
Low Pressure Regulators
Low pressure regulators for the last stage of a gas system: in-line units, point of use outlets and laboratory bench and wall regulators that take a reduced supply pressure and hold a stable low outlet pressure at the instrument or bench. The range includes the Rotarex S Series in-line regulators, Mono Series point of use units, the S20-0.1 ultra low pressure regulator, the S21 bellows point of use regulator and the Labline S22 laboratory regulator, alongside our PHF pipeline high flow regulators for balanced valve control at higher flows.
26 productsHigh Pressure Regulators
Cylinder regulators for high pressure specialty and industrial gases, in single stage and dual stage designs.
13 productsHigh Purity Regulators
Regulators for high purity and ultra high purity gas systems, where the regulator must not add contamination to the gas it controls.
6 productsGas Manifolds
Manifolds for supplying gas from more than one cylinder, from simple manual manifolds to automatic changeover systems that switch to the reserve bank without interrupting supply.
7 productsCalibration Regulators
Regulators and fittings for calibration and span gas cylinders, used for gas detector bump testing and calibration.
9 productsBack Pressure Regulators
A back pressure regulator holds the pressure upstream of itself steady by relieving flow downstream when that pressure rises, the reverse of a normal pressure reducing regulator.
4 productsCutting & Welding
Regulators, workshop user points and gas optimisers for cutting and welding gas supply, for workshops and fabrication sites running oxygen, acetylene and shielding gases from cylinders or piped systems. This is our own range, built for daily workshop use rather than laboratory purity.
4 productsHigh Flow Regulators
Regulators built to pass a large volume of gas while holding a steady outlet pressure, for pipelines, process supply and any line where one regulator feeds several outlets.
18 productsCommon questions
- What is the difference between a single stage and a dual stage regulator?
- A single stage regulator drops the pressure once, so its outlet pressure drifts a little as the cylinder empties. A dual stage regulator drops it in two steps inside one body, which holds the outlet steady across the whole cylinder life. Dual stage is the choice for analytical instruments and long unattended runs. Single stage has fewer parts and costs less where a small drift does not matter.
- What does droop mean on a regulator?
- Droop is the fall in outlet pressure as the flow through the regulator increases. Every regulator droops to some degree, which is why a regulator is specified on flow as well as on pressure. It matters where an instrument needs a steady supply while demand changes, and it is the reason the nominal flow figure on a product page is worth reading alongside the outlet range.
- Should the regulator sit on the cylinder or in the line?
- Both arrangements exist and they do different jobs. A cylinder regulator mounts on the cylinder valve and takes full cylinder pressure down to a working pressure. An in line or point of use regulator sits further along the pipework and trims an already reduced supply to what one bench or instrument needs. Larger systems normally use both, one at the source and one at each position.
