Common questions
- What is a push and turn tap?
- A push and turn tap will not open by turning alone. The handle has to be pushed in before it will rotate, so a knock, a sleeve or a bag catching the handle cannot open the gas. It is the usual specification for teaching laboratories and for any bench where people work close to the outlets.
- What connections do the bench taps use?
- G 3/8 or 1/4 inch NPT inlet and outlet across the range, with a G 1/4 inlet on one version, and threads to ISO 228-1. Where the outlet takes a hose it is a fixed olive shaped nozzle to DIN 12898. The connection for each unit is stated on its own product page.
- What is a suspended drop tap?
- A drop tap is fed from above, from a service boom or a ceiling run, and hangs over the bench instead of standing on it. It keeps the bench surface clear for work and cleaning and keeps pipework off the top. There is a two way version in this range with U distribution, which serves two positions from one drop.
